Connect low-risk steps with approvals.
Automation earns its place when a task is repeatable, its inputs are predictable, and a mistake is recoverable. Start with something where the worst outcome is an awkward correction rather than a lost client. Connect a trigger, a step, and a destination — and put a human approval in front of anything that leaves your organisation.
The approval is not a formality and it should not be a rubber stamp. Decide in advance what the reviewer is actually checking and how they say no. An automation everyone approves without reading is worse than no automation, because it carries the authority of a process while doing none of the work of one.
Automate the repeatable and recoverable. Put a real approval — with a defined check — in front of anything that leaves the building.
