AI for Research & Due Diligence
Learners who need to investigate markets, companies, competitors or vendors without treating AI output as evidence.
What you will be able to do
- Frame a research question with explicit decision criteria and scope.
- Build a source plan that distinguishes primary from secondary evidence.
- Use AI to accelerate synthesis while keeping every citation attached.
- Reconcile conflicting claims and document what remains uncertain.
- Write a market finding someone can actually make a decision on.
How this is assessed
Source-verified market reportSubmit a research brief, a cited evidence table, your findings, and a limitations section, on a real question — a market you are considering entering, a vendor you would have to choose between, a competitor you need to understand. Every claim in the findings must trace to a row in the evidence table.
| Grade | What earns it |
|---|---|
| Pass | Complete sourcing — every claim traceable to a dated, classified source. |
| Merit | Sound synthesis that reconciles conflicting evidence rather than picking a side. |
| Distinction | A precise recommendation that cleanly separates what is known from what is inferred, and says what would change it. |
Before you submit
- The brief names the decision, the decision-maker and the evidence standard.
- The evidence table marks each source primary or secondary and records its date.
- Every finding traces to at least one evidence row.
- Conflicting sources are shown with the reason for the conflict.
- The limitations section names questions you could not answer.
- Recommendation and inference are visibly separated from evidence.
