The real cost of the year you repeat

Credit that is not recognised means repeating that learning: another year of fees, another year of living costs, and a year of earnings you never have. That is the true price of a transfer that goes badly, and it is far larger than the fee difference people usually compare.

So do the arithmetic before you move rather than afterwards. Sometimes the answer is that finishing where you are and moving for postgraduate study is cheaper, faster and arrives at the same destination. Transferring is a legitimate and often good decision — it is simply one to make with the real number in front of you.
