Where they are actually taught

Not in a course called any of those names. They are trained in the parts of the degree students most often try to minimise — the essay with a real word limit, the seminar where you have to defend a position out loud, the lab report where the method has to survive somebody checking it, the group project where you cannot do it all yourself.

Which is why the optimisation that feels smart at the time — picking modules by ease, choosing the assessment format you find least uncomfortable — quietly trades away the part with the long shelf life for the part with the short one.
