Rebuilding a syllabus for yourself

Deciding what to learn, and in what order, is genuinely difficult — and it is the part a course was quietly doing for you. The workable substitute is to find somebody else's structure: a published curriculum, a well-known book's contents page, a professional body's outline. Follow it rather than assembling something yourself from scattered articles.

Then narrow it hard. "Learn data analysis" is not a plan; "work through these six chapters and do the exercises" is. Breadth chosen by browsing feels productive and reliably produces a collection of half-understood beginnings.
