Reading a Job Ad Honestly · Lesson 3 of 4
Reading between the lines
Some things the ad tells you without meaning to. A very long list of unrelated duties often means one person is covering two jobs. A role open for months may be hard to fill for a reason worth asking about. A salary given as a wide range usually means the level is genuinely negotiable and they have not decided who they want.
Notice too what is absent. No mention of who you report to, or of the team, is worth a question at interview rather than an assumption at offer.
