'Why us, and why this role?' is where most candidates lose. A generic answer signals you applied everywhere, which is usually true and should not be visible.

Earn the answer: read what they published this year, know one specific thing about the team or course, and connect it to something you have actually done. Then ask them something you genuinely want to know — the questions you ask are part of the assessment.
