Finding your actual field

A field is not a job title. 'Doctor' is a job; 'health sciences' is a field. Start wide. Write down the three subjects you would still read about if nobody graded you on them, and the three tasks you enjoy — arguing a case, fixing a broken thing, organising people, making something look right.

Now cross them. Someone who likes biology and likes fixing things is closer to biomedical engineering than to medicine. Someone who likes economics and likes arguing is closer to policy or law than to accounting. The crossing is where the honest answer lives.
