Where to look it up

Every major destination publishes a public register of recognised institutions, maintained by a government department or a national quality agency. That register is the only source worth trusting for question one — not the institution's own site, and not a listing on an aggregator.

For question two, go to the professional body for the field in the country where you intend to practise — the engineering council, the nursing council, the accountancy institute. They publish which programmes they accredit, and the list is dated.
