Agent scope
Choose a repeatable, bounded process.
An agent is not a general assistant. It is a narrow worker with one job, and the narrower the job the better it performs. Good candidates repeat often, arrive in a predictable shape, and have a clear finish line: qualify this enquiry, sort this inbox, assemble this weekly report.
Write the job in one sentence before you build anything. If you cannot — if the sentence needs an "and" or a "depending on" — the scope is still too wide. Splitting it into two narrower agents almost always beats one that tries to judge which situation it is in.
