What credit recognition actually is

Credit is a measure of learning that has already been assessed. Recognition is the receiving institution deciding to accept some of yours in place of its own modules, so that you enter partway through rather than at the beginning. It is a judgement they make, not an entitlement you hold, and two institutions can reach different answers about the same transcript.

What they are really asking is whether your module covered the same ground to the same depth and was assessed comparably. Which is why module descriptions and learning outcomes matter enormously here, and why a grade on its own tells them very little.
