Why You Put Things Off · Lesson 1 of 4
It is not laziness, and calling it that does not help
People put off the tasks that make them feel something uncomfortable — the ones that are ambiguous, or that they expect to be bad at, or where the standard feels impossibly high. Scrolling is not what you wanted to do instead; it is what was available while you avoided the feeling.
This matters because it explains why "just be more disciplined" fails. The advice treats a low-effort symptom as the cause. What actually shifts the behaviour is making the task less uncomfortable to start, which is a design problem rather than a character one.
