Public, Private, and What Fees Buy · Lesson 4 of 4
Cost against outcome, again
Higher fees do not reliably buy better teaching, and lower fees do not reliably mean worse. What higher fees sometimes buy is smaller classes, better facilities or more support — and sometimes what they buy is marketing. The way to tell them apart is to ask what specifically the extra pays for, and then look for it on the ground.
Then do the arithmetic: total cost across the whole course, set against realistic destinations for that specific programme. A cheaper course with better published outcomes is not a compromise. It is simply the better purchase.
