Planning a Week That Survives Contact · Lesson 3 of 4

Naming the week's one thing

Ask what, if this week produced only one thing, would make it a good week. Write it at the top. Almost every week contains a single item that actually matters and a great many that merely feel urgent, and the two are very easy to confuse in the moment.

The point is not to do only that. It is that when the week goes wrong — and it will — you know immediately what to protect and what to let go of. Without it you protect whatever is loudest, which is rarely the same thing.
