What an ad actually is

A job ad is written by combining a manager's wish list with an old template and a little legal caution. It is not a specification, and almost nobody hired into the role met every line of it.

The practical consequence: the candidate who reads it as a checklist and disqualifies themselves is competing against candidates who read it as a description and applied anyway. The second group gets interviewed.
