Helping Without Taking Over · Lesson 3 of 4
Tracking without nagging
Put every deadline on one shared sheet — course, date, what is needed, submitted yes or no — and agree a single weekly check-in to look at it together. One conversation a week, at a known time, rather than eleven unscheduled ones.
The sheet does the reminding, which means you are not the reminder. That distinction matters more than it sounds: it moves you from adversary back to ally, and it means the deadline pressure comes from the calendar rather than from you.
