The first job is a training position

Most graduates over-weight the title and the salary of the first job and under-weight what it teaches them. Within three years the person who learned more is usually earning more, regardless of who started higher.

The useful question about a first job is therefore: what will I be able to do in two years that I cannot do today, and who will have watched me do it?
