Prepare for the format, not the language

Most students who score below expectation had adequate English and inadequate familiarity with the test. Timing, question types and the exact shape of the writing tasks are learnable in weeks.

Do at least three full-length timed mocks. Score the writing against the published band descriptors, not against your own sense of whether it 'reads well'.
