The check that matters

For an online or distance programme in India, recognition is granted to a specific institution for a specific programme for a specific period. It is not a permanent property of the university, and it is not inherited by every course the university offers. This is the single most misunderstood point in the category.

So the check is narrow: find the regulator’s own published list, look up the institution, and confirm that the exact programme you intend to take appears against it for the period you will be studying. Do not accept a prospectus, a counsellor, a screenshot, or a logo as evidence of this. Go to the source and take a dated screenshot of what you find.
